Honestly, I reckon that, if it were to rain here, it’d just be the hot, annoying kind that makes it worse.

Does it count if I fill the lining with ice first?

I mean thats warm, but the bad part is humidity. That’ll make it feel much worse

I just wanted to make a badly informed American Fahrenheit joke!

But yes, a vest/jacket with ice packs in it would be a treat I’d imagine.

I am all too familiar with the hot, not cooling rain that only succeeds in making the air even more humid.

This is why god saw fit to bless us with air conditioning and we’ve seen it go up to the low 40’s in August.....with what felt like 100% humidity to go with it.....we don’t go outside much in August.

If you’re this put out by heat and humidity, you might not want to ever attend Dragon*Con in the US. Conditions are usually over 30C and quite humid outdoors.

07/01/2015 at 11:40

Kinja'd!!!0

That’s part of our problem—since this barely ever happens, it’s almost unheard of for homes to have air con. And, thanks to some Gallic engineering brilliance, my car doesn’t have it either.

To acquire shandy and OJ, I’d have to actually leave the house, and I feel like I’ll melt the moment I step into open sunlight. The desperation’s getting there, though.

Being brown skinned and being stuck in a room with the radiator jammed on full for way too many years has made me immune to the heat but seriously I fucking hate the humidity. I feel like I can pluck balls of water out of the air. I’m gonna go sit in a park for a bit or at least find a less built up area.

It’s actually not too far off, if you ignore the power shortage of my budget engine option. It only weighs 750-ish kg, and the model had a rather successful rally career. Unfortunately, no RHD version had AC, because they couldn’t be arsed to re-engineer the engine bay to fit the pump in around the steering column.

In a sense, the entire ocean is an open sewer, but yah. The funny thing about growing up next to the sea is that you basically never make the time to go to the beach.

It’s funny the things we consider as standard here in the US in terms of equipment. Even stuff like ABS. Did you know some newer model Jettas (or called the Borat in Mexico, may be the Passat, I don’t recall) were sold without ABS standard? It’s insane!

Kinja'd!!! duurtlang > desertdog5051

It’s the climate. When you ‘need’ AC for maybe a day or two in an average year , most homes won’t have it. Quite logical really. Especially since homes (at least in Germany and the Netherlands) tend to be well isolated, so they won’t heat up that quickly during summer.

Still going strong ... will we make the 40°C?

Blech ... my computer starts misbehaving already, as indoor temperatures (no AC indeed) keep climbing, too, due to this being the 4th hot day.
